Creating a New Account
An Alberta.ca Account is now required to access ApplyAlberta. You will be prompted to create an account if you do not already have one.
To create your account, follow these steps:
- Click on the "Apply Now" link on the ApplyAlberta site.
- On the Alberta.ca Account page, click "Create Account".
- Fill in the required information on the form, and click "Submit".
- An email message will be sent to you that contains a link to confirm your email address. Click on the link in the message.
- Enter the password you created for your account on the "Confirm account creation" page, and click "Next".
- The "Identity Check" page will be displayed. The information you entered when creating your account will be displayed. You can edit it if necessary.
- If you have previously applied to or attended school in Alberta and you know your Alberta Student Number (ASN), enter it now. If you do not already have an Alberta Student Number (ASN), click the "Create New ASN" link. (If you're not sure whether you already have an ASN, click the "Reasons you may have an ASN" link. If any of the reasons apply to you, follow the "Lookup my ASN" link to find it.)
- A window will be displayed indicating that a new ASN has been created for you, and that information has also been emailed to you. Click "Continue".
- You will now be logged on to ApplyAlberta.
Helpful Tips:
- Always start your application activities at the ApplyAlberta home page. Do not bookmark the login page.
- When creating your Alberta.ca Account, enter your legal first name, middle name, and last name as shown on your birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, or immigration documents.
- Only a basic account is required; you do not need to create a verified Alberta.ca Account.
- If you have a problem creating your account or if any errors occur, try returning to the ApplyAlberta home page and continuing from there.
- Contact the Help Desk for assistance.
